so u wanna CHANGE your world?
BUSN395
(you take this class in Spring, 2008)
BUSN395 is an
interdisciplinary class that examines the central question posed by Adam Smith
in 1776: why are people in some countries poor, whereas others are wealthy?
(The full title of his book is: An
Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations.)
The class will allow
you to think critically about government policies and other factors that either
promote or retard the ability of individuals to pursue happiness in their
economic life.
Some key questions we
will address include:
Ø why are some countries
richer (per capita) than others?
Ø are entrepreneurs able
to obtain needed funds to build their new company?
Ø how do government
laws, regulations, and policies affect the ability of individuals to start new
companies?
